Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 13, 2026
JobLens provides a Chrome extension and companion web application that help users analyse job postings, extract structured job intelligence, build and tailor resumes, and track job applications. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address and authentication identifiers when you create an account or sign in.
- Job posting content — when you explicitly activate JobLens on a job posting, the extension reads the content of the currently open page and securely sends only the information necessary to our backend for AI-powered signal extraction.
- Application tracking data — jobs you choose to save, application status, notes, interview dates and other information you voluntarily add.
- Resume content — resumes you upload, generate or type into JobLens, including the text extracted from an uploaded file and the resume versions JobLens produces for you. Resume files and generated PDFs are stored in private cloud storage and are only ever served to you through short-lived, expiring download links.
- Billing information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your payment details. We store only a customer and subscription reference, your plan and its status. We never see or store your card number.
- Usage analytics — limited analytics about how JobLens is used so we can improve reliability, performance and product quality.

AI processing
JobLens uses secure cloud-based AI services to analyse job postings after you activate the extension. Relevant job posting content is securely transmitted to our backend where AI models extract structured job information such as sponsorship status, salary, work model, contract type, relocation support, seniority and required technologies. Only the extracted results are returned to the extension.
When you upload a resume, its extracted text is sent to the same AI service so its structure — roles, dates, skills, education and projects — can be read back into an editable resume. When you tailor a resume to a posting, your saved resume and that posting's content are sent together so the tailored version can be produced. Your resume content is used to provide these features to you; it is not used to train AI models.
Signing in with Google
If you sign in with Google, we request only your basic profile information — your name and email address. JobLens does not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive or Google Sheets, and cannot read, create or modify files in your Google account. You may also create a JobLens account with an email address and password instead.
Sharing your information
We share information only with trusted service providers required to operate JobLens: cloud hosting and storage providers, authentication providers (including Google when you choose to sign in with Google), AI model providers, our email delivery provider and our payment processor. These providers process data solely to provide services on our behalf.
We do not share or sell your personal information for advertising or marketing purposes.
Local storage
JobLens uses your browser's local storage to remember preferences, authentication state, tracker configuration and extension settings. This information remains on your device until you remove it or uninstall the extension.
Data retention
Account information, resumes and application tracking data are retained while your account remains active. Resume history is intentionally kept as a list of versions so you can return to an earlier one; you can delete individual versions at any time. Job posting content used for AI analysis is retained only for as long as necessary to provide the requested analysis and improve service reliability. Where possible, processing is transient and content is not retained longer than required.
What JobLens does not collect

- JobLens does not analyse pages unless you explicitly activate the extension.
- JobLens does not record keystrokes.
- JobLens does not collect passwords.
- JobLens does not collect payment card information.
- JobLens does not use your resume or job data to train AI models.
- JobLens does not read your email, files or documents in any connected Google account.
- JobLens does not sell your personal information.

Children's privacy
JobLens is not intended for children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
